I was inspired to pursue a career in GIS after working with the technology during my service year with AmeriCorps where I utilized it in several projects to advance K-12 education and community science efforts in natural resource management. However, prior to that I relied on GIS technologies heavily in both my personal and professional life as an avid traveler, educator, and outdoor guide. I am fascinated by its complexity and flexibility to address such an incredible variety of issues from natural resource management to public health, urban development and more. My past studies and experience have served me well in this transition as my time working with groups in the classroom and outdoors have helped me develop excellent communication and strong problem-solving skills, patience, and a passion for continuous learning. I am searching for opportunities to expand my knowledge and contribute to an organization that advances the improvement of communities through implementation of GIS.
